SPECIAL MEETING COMBINING PPCG AND PUBLETTERS

Please RSVP: phillyrichard@philadelphiapens.com

Publetters is a group that Mike McGettigan, a PPCG member, sponsors where people get together to write letters. We will start with a short session on improving our handwriting toward increased legibility and then proceed to write a letter to a person of your choice.

Our meeting will include:

· Handwriting improvement and your readers.

· “Seven and a half things about Letter Writing (one of which is Publetters) We will have some stationery, envelopes & stamps on               hand and there’s a mail box down the street from our meeting location. We will have a “cheat sheet” of notable mailing addresses,             but bring your address book as well. If you have any interesting old letterhead or stationery to share, we’d love to see it.

· What I bought (or learned) at the Philly Pen Show

Getting there:

Fergie’s Pub is close to City Hall Philadelphia and accessible by nearly every form of transit known to penkind, including Market East Station, 13th St. Market-Frankford and Subway Surface Station, Patco Line 12th-13th Locust Station, a whole slew of SEPTA bus routes, and the Broad Street Subway Walnut-Locust stop. If you drive, there are parking garages in the area and even on-street parking is not out of the question. PLEASE READ parking signage very carefully!

We look forward to seeing you on the 24th!

Out with the old (website) and in with the new!

In 2008 we created the Club website using the proprietary site builder provided by Register.com.  That tool became somewhat outdated over the years but the only way to use a more current tool was to recreate the entire site.  As long as we were going to do that it made sense to use a tool that was more universal than Register.com’s latest, but still proprietary tool, so the site has now been rebuilt using WordPress.

We invite you to report any mistakes and to make any suggestions.

Site updates

The site has been updated for the first time in a while.

  • Home Page and Upcoming Events pages now say our next meeting will be in 2017 rather than 2015.
  • Our Recent Events and Club Photo Album pages now include the November 2016 meeting
  • The link to the Club page on Facebook has been corrected.
